Hello there. Thank you for visiting. This is the personal (but not to private) blog of Isaac Aughenbaugh. I share another blog with Noah Brandt over at noahandisaac.blogspot.com where we post short stories, poetry and random ideas we have sometimes.
So why did we both decide to start separate blogs also? (And coincedently, why should you stick around?) The answer is perhaps a little bit long but I think it’s worth telling because it will give you an idea of what to expect here on this blog.
Noah and I enjoy stories. We enjoy reading a lot and we enjoy writing. Our shared blog (Stuff and Things) gave us a platform to write a little bit and share it with the world. Generally the stuff we post there is not autobiographical.
Another thing we share in common is our love of Jesus Christ and our desire to serve Him in the world. I recently got back from Papua New Guinea where I am planning on returning long term. Noah’s always had this crazy obsession with Mongolia where he plans on heading after participating in Youth With A Mission’s Discipleship Training School (which you can read about here.)
What does that have to do with this blog? Noah and I both felt like we needed something a little bit more professional (and personal) for our missions. And that is why I’m starting this here and he’s got a new thing going on over here.
I also hope to use this as a little bit of a soap box to lay out some of the things that God’s put on my heart and I think about way more than is probably healthy.
Lastly, because this is a more personal blog I plan on posting updates on my journey towards manliness (or becoming like Jesus [who was pretty radically manly]). At the end of the day I’m just trying to figure out what it means to love and be loved by the God of the universe and I hope to share the things I learn with all of you.
That being said, here are some of the things you should expect to see here.
Stuff that I’m doing in preparation for the mission field.
Prayers, prayer requests and answered prayers.
Pictures! I’ve got them, you may see them.
Past, present and future trips.
Probably a lot of Gospel stuff, sorry (not really), it’s who I am.
I hope to keep posting stories and poetry as it comes to me on Stuff and Things also so maybe check over there every once in awhile if that’s something you’d be interested in.
I’ve got quite a few more posts coming soon so you won’t have to wait too long to get a better idea of what this blog’s all about.
Thanks again for stopping by, hope to see you again soon.
